As you will know Taxi Plate Lease values have continued to plummet this year being under attack from a number of fronts.

Key to this breakdown of prices have been:

1. The ACT Government release of 95 plates since October 2018. (9 months) adding over 20% of new plates on the market.

2. The deteriorating taxi income gross position in the ACT from passengers that are dissatisfied from current drivers/cars/service and the strong uptake of Uber in the ACT.

3. The negotiating tactics of Operators/Aerial/ACT Cabs which have been driving prices to gain a benefit from reduced costs.

At the moment there is a wide range of prices being offered to vacant plate owners and it is also unclear what quantity of plates are actually not leased despite many being down at the same rate at ACT Government prices of $110.00 per week.

The ACTTPOA is compiling a survey to check the actual lease values in the ACT and to discover how many plates are actually not leased. ACT Taxi Plate owners are invited to fill out this survey by the end of September 2019 in order to allow us to compile the results and share this information with all plate owners. We will also use this information on a confidential basis to make a further submission to the ACT Government about the impact of this Taxi policy decisions.

PLEASE FILL OUT THIS SURVEY SO THAT WE CAN A PROPER PICTURE OF THE STATE OF THE MARKET. IT SHOULD TAKE YOU LESS THAN 3 MINUTES.
